Shakkar Para
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups Atta
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm melted ghee
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Preparation
- In a small pot over low flame, heat the milk and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and ghee. Rub together until the mixture resembles wet, sandy crumbs.
- Add the milk mixture in batches and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Pinch off portions of dough and roll into 1/4–1/2-inch-thick circles or squares.
- Using a sharp knife, cut into diamonds or 1-inch squares.
- Heat oil to approximately 325°F (163°C).
- Fry the pieces until lightly golden.
- Drain on paper towels and serve.
