Ethics and Corrections Policy
India West is committed to accurate, fair, independent, and responsible journalism. Our mission is to provide reliable news, information, commentary, and community coverage that serves our readers and the broader public.
Accuracy and Fairness
India West makes every reasonable effort to verify facts before publication. We seek to present information clearly, fairly, and in proper context. When appropriate, we seek comment from people, organizations, public agencies, or other parties that are the subject of our reporting.
India West does not knowingly publish false or misleading information. Headlines, photographs, captions, graphics, videos, newsletters, and social media posts should fairly reflect the content of the story.
Independence
India West’s editorial decisions are made independently. They are not controlled by advertisers, sponsors, donors, political groups, business partners, or outside organizations.
We do not allow financial support, advertising relationships, sponsorships, donations, or business relationships to determine or improperly influence our news coverage.
Sponsored, paid, or promotional content, if any, will be clearly labeled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial content.
Conflicts of Interest
India West’s journalists, editors, contributors, and owners should avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise, or appear to compromise, the integrity of our reporting.
When a potential conflict exists, India West will take appropriate steps, which may include disclosure, reassignment, additional editorial review, or declining coverage.
We do not accept gifts, favors, payments, or special treatment in exchange for favorable coverage.
Sources and Attribution
India West identifies sources whenever possible. We may grant confidentiality to a source only when there is a strong public-interest reason and when the information cannot reasonably be obtained otherwise.
We attribute information, quotes, documents, images, videos, and data to their original source whenever appropriate.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Responsibility
India West aims to cover the community with respect, fairness, and sensitivity. We strive to include diverse voices and perspectives, including voices from communities that are often underrepresented or underserved in public conversation.
We recognize the importance of serving Indian American, South Asian, immigrant, ethnic, religious, cultural, business, professional, civic, and local communities with care, accuracy, and balance.
Corrections Policy
India West is committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently.
Readers may request a correction by contacting us at:

Subject line: Correction Request
A correction request should include:
- The article title or link.
- The date of publication.
- A clear description of the alleged error.
- Supporting information or documentation, if available.
- The requester’s name and contact information.
When India West receives a correction request, we will review it in good faith. If we determine that a factual error was made, we will correct the article as soon as reasonably possible.
Material corrections will be noted at the bottom of the article with an explanation of what was corrected and, where appropriate, the date of the correction.
Minor typographical, formatting, or grammatical changes that do not affect the meaning of the story may be corrected without a formal correction note.
Updates and Clarifications
Some stories may be updated as new information becomes available. When an update materially changes or adds to the original story, India West will indicate that the story has been updated.
If a story is accurate but could be misunderstood, India West may add a clarification.
Opinion and Commentary
Opinion articles, columns, editorials, letters to the editor, guest columns, and commentary reflect the views of the author unless otherwise stated.
Opinion content is separate from news reporting and should be clearly identified.
Privacy and Sensitivity
India West considers the privacy, dignity, and safety of individuals when reporting, especially in matters involving minors, victims of crime, medical issues, immigration status, personal tragedy, religion, caste, ethnicity, family matters, or vulnerable communities.
We balance privacy concerns with the public’s right to know.
