NEW YORK, NY – South Asian-inspired fashion house Raas debuted their newest collection Ezora as the headliner for the 2nd annual South Asian New York Fashion Week with Richa Moorjani as their showstopper.
Held at the beautiful Chelsea Square in the heart of New York City on September 10, the collection showcased the timeless allure of two distinct cultures that transcend boundaries and celebrates the harmonious fusion of Western Silhouettes and the art of Gujarat.
Moorjani best known for her role as Kamala in the series ‘Never Have I Ever,’ walked the runway in a lehenga crafted from premium gaji silk and adorned with mirror embroidery and ajrakh print. Richa’s lehenga was made from vegan silk and hand embroidered.
Raas showcased 26 flowing silhouettes with intricate patterns in styles ranging from modern dresses and 2-piece co-ord sets to traditional lehengas.
Shreya Patel, the creative director, and founder of Raas, launched the brand in 2018 with a mission to employ artisans in her design house that will embrace ethical practices and manufacturing. As an ethically responsible fashion brand, Patel ensures all employees also receive fair wages.
