Vinod Khosla & Musk Argue Over Trump’s Depravity, Climate

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (IANS) – Elon Musk and ace venture capitalist Vinod Khosla on July 22 engaged in a public spat on X after President Joe Biden dropped out of the US Presidential race.

Khosla came out against former US President Donald Trump, saying it is hard for him to support someone with “no values, lies, cheats, rapes, demeans women, hates immigrants like me”.

“He (Trump) may cut my taxes or reduce some regulation but that is no reason to accept depravity in his personal values. Do you want a President who will set back the climate by a decade in his first year? Do you want his example for your kids as values?” asked Khosla.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO replied, saying Trump doesn’t hate him. “In fact, I think he likes you. Meet him and find out for yourself. I’m not suggesting that Trump is without flaws, however, we need an administration that is more likely to be meritocratic and promote individual freedoms over the heavy hand of government,” he wrote. Musk further said that many years ago, that was the Democratic Party, but now, “the pendulum has swung to the Republican Party”.

Khosla replied, saying he agrees with meritocracy and promotes individual freedoms.

“But abandon climate and “drill baby drill? Be MAGA (Make America Great Again) and abandon NATO and American leadership and moral authority? I was a socially liberal registered fiscal Republican till climate made me switch to Independent,” posted the top investor in Silicon Valley.

Musk continued to support Trump, saying civilization does need oil and gas for quite some time. “I don’t think we should demonize an industry that is essential for humanity to function. However, as you know, sustainable energy production and consumption is growing very rapidly and is tracking to exceed use of hydrocarbon fuels. That will happen no matter what Trump does,” Musk said.

  • Like Vinod Khosla, millions of Americans are not enamored with Trump’s wealth, dysfunctional family life, narcissistic personality, sexual exploits, and empty promises. They have seen it before, the drama of the lunatics. Vinod Khosla has explained it well, not from the perspective of a fellow capitalist, Elon Musk. Vinod is a statesman, not a chameleon.

  • I don’t understand why Musk supports Trump. Musk sell electric cars for environment and selling cars all over the world but Trump says he doesn’t believe in climate change and wants to break regulations with the countries who buys our cars.
Also musk cars are sold in America are only buy by liberals who believe in climate change. If liberals back out who will buy his cars. He will go bankrupt in a year.

  • Mr Khosla lost his integrity when he opposed the California Coastal Commission seeking access to the beach front for all california beach goers; His point was the beach behind his house belonged to him. He could have a large heart and allowed access to the beach and he did not do that and talks about progressive talking points such as “climate change”, He needs to model his behavior to the values he cherishes; from that point of view, he becomes another hypocrite.

  • Mr. Khosla should be aware he is not voting to elect the Pope. For a guy who should have no shortage of real world experience, Khosla talks like a 3rd grader. He’s talking like Trump’s morality is an outlier in the face of Epstein’s circle of elites, Republicans, Dems & Libertarians alike with one thing probably in common… rich and white. So why pin morality on Trump when we have the illustrious Bill Clinton defiling the White House itself. Or even Obama working the back-door. Let’s not even talk about Biden and his showers, sniffing habits, et. al. where age is no barrier.
To understand where Khosla is coming from you have to know Punjabis tend to have loud mouths with not enough backing from the upper storey – loud mouths especially when they make it big – Khosla is the stereotype Punjabi.

    • So like tRump your go to response is to insult without provocation. It shows weakness and the inability to respond with facts or truths. Like tRump perhaps a convicted sexual criminal, porn star client, convicted on 39 felony counts and perveyor of racist and xenophobic values is your cup of tea. Good luck with that.
