Kamala, Vance, Buttigieg, Newsom, AOC Spark Voter Interest
India-West News Desk
WASHINGTON, DC – Chatter surrounding the 2028 presidential race is intensifying following a new survey from YouGov and Bowling Green State University. The poll indicates a high potential for a “vice-presidential matchup in 2028,” as USA Today put it, with former Vice President Kamala Harris and current Vice President JD Vance leading their respective primary fields.
While both figures show strong early backing within their bases, the polling reveals very different field dynamics for each party.
The Democratic side points to a tightly contested primary. Harris currently holds a narrow lead at 17% support, closely pursued by former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 16%. California Governor Gavin Newsom and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remain within striking distance, each capturing 14% of support among Democratic voters.
The Republican race displays a much clearer frontrunner. Vance commands a comfortable lead with 44% support, distantly followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 21% and Donald Trump Jr. at 8%. The survey, which gathered responses from 1,200 likely voters between August 25 and September 1, carries a 3.3 percentage point margin of error.
Meanwhile, potential candidates are publicly weighing their prospects, reported USA Today. Newsom signaled a cautious approach during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, noting that while he is unsure if Harris will enter the race, he would not run against her. Conversely, Texas Senator Ted Cruz directly expressed his interest in a White House bid during a recent podcast appearance, noting his desire for the presidency “is no secret.” Rubio, on the other hand, has attempted to downplay speculation regarding his candidacy, though he has stopped short of explicitly ruling out a presidential campaign.

What a travesty, Kamala again!!!! She has ZERO chance of winning, people who support her should know, if Kamal is the choice, then Kiss goodbye to white house for the next eight years. and that’s for sure.
