Sameera Reddy: No Longer Chasing Her Pre-Pregnancy Body
MUMBAI-Actress Sameera Reddy says she has learned to embrace her body, moving from insecurity in 2009 to confidence in 2026.
The actress said her motivation to stay fit now comes from within, not from seeking validation from others. She added that she no longer feels obsessed with regaining her pre-pregnancy physique and has accepted her body as it is today.
Sharing her journey on Instagram, she wrote, “Super insecure in 2009. Super confident in 2026! What’s changed? Thought process, loving my body. Wanting to stay fit and be motivated for myself and not for others! (sic).”
“Embracing every stage. Every age. I’m not obsessed with my pre-pregnancy body. I welcome and accept a new version of my body now. And that gives me the freedom to be myself and is also where my confidence comes from today,” she added.
In September, Sameera had also urged people to embrace their bodies without letting others’ opinions dictate how they feel about themselves.
She shared an Instagram video featuring words such as “plumpy”, “thicc”, “curvy”, “chubby”, “healthy”, “chunky” and “golu”, highlighting the different ways people describe body types.
The video carried her message: “Whether you are a well-known personality, a young teen finding her way, a new mama, a woman seen year of judgement .. or just a person who needs to hear this – Your body listens and needs you to love it back irrespective of anything anyone has to say.”
She also captioned the post with the words: “Words I love being called plumpy thicc curvy chubby healthy chunky golu.” (IANS)
