IRVINE, CA – Kia America has reported record-setting sales figures for July, continuing its strong performance in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Year-to-date sales of EV models have surged by an impressive 99% compared to the previous year, highlighting Kia’s leadership in the global EV sector.

In July, Kia sold a total of 63,580 vehicles, with SUVs making up 76% and electrified models 18% of the total sales. The Seltos SUV and the Sportage SUV, both available with internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, set new July sales records, growing by 5% and 4%, respectively. This growth has significantly contributed to Kia’s overall sales momentum.

Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, stated, “Kia anticipated the shifting market trends and we proactively responded by improving our range of sustainable electrified models including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric models. We’ve also seen more and more consumers gravitate to the Kia brand for our award-winning SUVs, including the record-breaking Seltos and Sportage models. As we expand our electrified offerings with the first-ever hybrid Carnival MPV over the next few months, we are confident that consumer interest in the Kia brand will continue to strengthen.”
