Rs 60,000 Crore To Be Spent To Develop Amaravati
AMARAVATI (ANI) – After a review meeting on the development of Amaravati as the state capital, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that the estimated budget for the project will be approximately Rs 60,000 crores. Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana stated that tenders will be called again to initiate the redevelopment of Amaravati, with plans to complete the project within the next three years.
The budget includes funding for a 360 km trunk road, 3,600 official residences, bungalows for ministers and MLAs, as well as facilities for the assembly, the High Court, and five administrative towers. Notably, 29,881 farmers have agreed to donate 34,241 acres of land in the Amaravati region.
“I have already appealed to the Centre for a bullet train connecting Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Amaravati. The World Bank has also agreed to sanction a loan for Amaravati, and I want all the work to be completed on time,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of interlinking the Vamsadhara, Godavari, Krishna, and Pennar rivers. He expressed regret that the state has incurred an additional burden of Rs 7,000 crores due to damage caused by the previous government. He noted that the Centre has pledged Rs 15,000 crores in assistance to the state.
