Trump Mocks Canada, Suggests It Become 51st State
WASHINGTON DC (ANI) – Donald Trump recently took aim at Canada, suggesting the country should consider becoming the 51st state of the United States. In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued that such a move would benefit Canadians by lowering taxes and ensuring military protection. He called the idea “great” and claimed many Canadians would support the proposal.
Trump questioned why the U.S. continues to subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100 million annually, labeling the arrangement as nonsensical. “No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense!” he wrote. He went on to suggest that joining the U.S. as the 51st state would provide Canadians with significant financial and security advantages.
The previous day, Trump had also criticized the Canadian ruling party, following the resignation of Canadian Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland. He referred to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the “Governor of Canada” and accused Freeland of making toxic decisions that were not in the best interest of Canadian citizens. Trump posted, “The Great State of Canada is stunned as the Finance Minister resigns, or was fired, from her position by Governor Justin Trudeau. Her behavior was totally toxic, and not at all conducive to making deals which are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. She will not be missed!!!”

The president-elect of the United States is not in the right frame of mind. His statements are contrary to the best interest of international relations and to the most friendly neighbor of all seasons. Any interventions in the internal politics and administrative matters by a leader of the United States would be considered against the diplomatic norms of all civilized nations.
