As 2025 Ends, Trump Cites India, Still Moans Not Getting The Nobel For Peace

WASHINGTON, DC – President Donald Trump is again publicly lamenting his failure to win the Nobel Peace Prize, with India featuring in his latest claims of being a peddler of peace.

In a video that has gone viral, Trump was caught on a hot mic complaining to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he has not received the Nobel Peace Prize, despite what he described as resolving multiple global conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan. The remarks were made during a gathering of Israeli and US officials at Trump’s Mar a Lago club in Florida, where the president appeared unaware that reporters were within earshot.

” Do I get credit for it? No, they gave them, I did eight of them. India. How about India and Pakistan? And then, so I did eight of them and then I’ll tell you the rest of it,” Trump said.

Trump’s comments revive claims he has insistently made since May 10, when he announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after what he described as a long night of talks mediated by Washington. Since then, Trump has continued to portray himself as instrumental in defusing the crisis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Parliament that no leader of any country asked India to halt Operation Sindoor.

In the same hot mic exchange, Trump also referred vaguely to stopping “35 years of fighting” between two unnamed countries and began to complain about the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to others. “They gave the Nob…” he said, trailing off while criticizing past selections.

The episode underscores a familiar pattern, with Trump seeking recognition for peace making while critics highlight the contrast between his rhetoric and his record.

Writing in Common Dreams, Brett Wilkins noted the irony of Trump’s peace prize complaints, pointing out that during his two terms Trump authorized military strikes in more countries than his predecessors. According to the report, Trump has ordered bombings in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen, as well as attacks on Venezuelan vessels accused of drug trafficking.
