It is time this charade ended. Trump is no friend of India or of Modi. Remember the old adage – “ with friends like this, who needs enemies?”
Trump tried to humiliate India with threats of high tariffs. He told India how much, if any, oil to buy from Russia. He demanded India declare Trump to be the peace maker in ‘Operation Sindoor,’ or else!
Trump is respectful only to those he is afraid of, such as Putin and Xi. All others, formal allies or not, are fair game for bullying and harassment.
Indira Gandhi would never have put up with the stuff Mr Modi has been quietly pocketing from Trump. She gave hell back to Kissinger and Nixon.
