Aamir Khan’s Family Responds To Brother Faissal’s Allegations, Asks For Empathy
MUMBAI – Following accusations from his brother, Faissal Khan, that his family destroyed his physical, mental, and financial health, Aamir Khan and his family have issued an official statement. In the statement, the family expressed their distress over the “hurtful and misleading portrayal” of Aamir, his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, and his sister Nikhat Hegde.
The statement, signed by the entire extended family, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, and Mansoor Khan, among others, defended their actions. “Every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing,” the statement read. The family also noted that they have “refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family.”
The family requested empathy from the media, urging them not to turn a private matter into “salacious, inflammatory and hurtful gossip.”
This response follows Faissal’s recent claims in a digital interview, where he alleged that Aamir locked him in his residence for a year and administered medication against his will, claiming he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. Faissal also stated that his mother and sister filed a case against him, claiming he was a danger to society due to his alleged diagnosis. He further accused close family members of brainwashing Aamir, causing a rift between the brothers.
Faissal, who starred with Aamir in the film Mela, is reportedly now living separately in Mumbai after conflicts with his mother and brother. (IANS)
