America Always: Kash Patel After Confirmation As FBI Chief In Narrow Senate Vote

WASHINGTON, DC – Kash Patel has been confirmed as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation following a razor-thin 51-49 Senate vote on February 20. Despite the Republican-majority chamber, Patel’s path to confirmation was contentious, Fox News Digital reported.  GOP Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins broke ranks to vote against him. However, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell cast a decisive vote in his favor.

Following his confirmation, Patel expressed his gratitude and commitment to restoring the FBI’s credibility. “The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicization of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today,” he posted. Pledging to rebuild the agency’s reputation, he added, “To those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet. Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work.”

According to Fox News Digital, Patel, who has long been a vocal critic of the investigations into Donald Trump, flew home to Las Vegas after his confirmation hearing, awaiting the Senate’s final decision. Throughout the confirmation process, Patel pledged that the FBI under his leadership would not engage in politically motivated actions, especially regarding the classified documents case against Trump and other sensitive matters.

His confirmation arrives at a moment of heightened scrutiny over the FBI’s leadership and investigative priorities. A recent order requiring thousands of FBI agents and supervisors to disclose their roles in the January 6, 2021, investigation has raised concerns about possible retribution against those involved, Fox News reported. Patel, however, assured lawmakers that his leadership would focus on depoliticizing the agency. “There will be no politicization at the FBI. There will be no retributive action,” he stated during his confirmation hearing.

Despite Patel’s assurances, his ability to follow through on those promises remains uncertain. Trump told reporters earlier this month that he intends to dismiss certain FBI personnel involved in the January 6 probe, calling them “corrupt,” though he did not elaborate on how he reached that conclusion. Fox News Digital noted that Patel’s handling of internal reforms and politically sensitive investigations will be closely watched in the coming months.
