Ayushmann Khurrana Celebrates Dual Rs 100 Crore Success In 2025

MUMBAI- Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has had a stellar 2025, is looking forward to an even better 2026 with ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ and a film with Sooraj Barjatya. He says he is thrilled to be entering the New Year with two consecutive Rs 100 crore hits with ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Thamma’.

“My heart is full of gratitude that both ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Thamma’ were successful. I am thrilled to be entering into 2026 with two consecutive 100 crore hits,” Ayushmann said.

Talking about his 2026 plans, Ayushmann added that he is excited about ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, describing it as a clean family comedy. He noted that there is always space for such films. He also spoke about Sooraj Barjatya’s next project, praising the director for being a humble and hardworking student of cinema.

What inspires Ayushmann the most about Barjatya is that he works like a nerd and is a master of the family entertainer genre. The actor added that the hero in such films is not just one character, as the entire family takes center stage. He described the leading man in a Sooraj Barjatya film as a quintessential green flag, which feels like a refreshing break from contemporary clutter.

The actor said that while he usually enjoys playing flawed characters who evolve over time, this film is different because it celebrates a wholesome, ideal family as the hero. Ayushmann will also be seen in a yet-untitled YRF–Posham Pa project, which starts filming in early 2026.

The actor tags himself as a producer-friendly actor. “When I commit to a project and step onto a shoot, I make it a point to keep things simple, even with my entourage. For me, it is not only about the scripts I choose but also about the kind of professional I am. I take pride in being a collaborator first, rather than someone who is focused solely on being seen as the leading hero,” he said.

Regarding franchises, he mentioned that the credibility of a predecessor like ‘Badhaai Ho’ or ‘Dream Girl’ is a major advantage. He expressed interest in exploring ‘Andhadhun 2’ in the future. He noted that as audience choices have become more selective, having a successful franchise helps back a top-notch product.

The actor concluded by saying that ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ takes him back to the 1978 hit starring Sanjeev Kumar. He described it as a great property under BR Chopra Films, now headed by Juno Chopra, and called the project an exciting film. (IANS)
