Beheading Horror In Dallas: Motel Manager Killed In Front of Family
India-West News Desk
DALLAS, TX — The morning of September 10 at the Downtown Suites motel turned into a scene of unimaginable horror, when 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah, motel manager, was brutally murdered and beheaded in front of his family.
Shaken family and community members in Dallas are grappling with the violent nature of the crime, as police continue to investigate.
According to authorities, the attack began over a routine dispute: Nagamallaiah had instructed Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, not to use a broken washing machine. Witnesses said Cobos-Martinez, an undocumented Cuban national, became enraged because Nagamallaiah had asked someone to translate the message instead of speaking to him directly.
Security footage and witness accounts describe a chilling sequence. Cobos-Martinez reportedly pulled a machete from his person and chased Nagamallaiah through the motel parking lot as he screamed for help.
The violence escalated near the front office, where the victim’s wife and 18-year-old son tried to intervene. Authorities said they were pushed aside as the suspect carried out the attack, ultimately decapitating Nagamallaiah and kicking his head into a dumpster. First responders from Dallas Fire-Rescue and police arrived shortly after, apprehending Cobos-Martinez, who later confessed to the killing.
Public records reveal a troubling history for the accused, including a 2017 conviction for carjacking a woman in California. ICE confirmed that Cobos-Martinez had been released from custody earlier this year despite a removal order and had an active warrant for a probation violation at the time of the attack.
The Consulate General of India in Houston has extended condolences to Nagamallaiah’s family and is offering assistance. A local fundraiser described the tragedy as “sudden and deeply traumatic,” highlighting the courage of the victim’s wife and son who tried to protect him.
The case has also sparked renewed discussions about criminal background checks and immigration enforcement, both online and in the media.

I am deeply saddened and horrified by the tragic loss of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian-American, who was brutally beheaded in a violent attack at a Dallas motel. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones during this unimaginable time of grief. The arrest of the suspect, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, is a step toward justice, but it cannot erase the pain inflicted on our community.
This incident is a stark reminder of the escalating violence in America, which continues to threaten the safety of our families and neighbors. As a lifelong advocate for the South Asian and broader AAPI community, I urge law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure swift justice. I also call on our leaders to address the root causes of such violence and implement measures to protect all citizens.
The Indian-American community stands united in mourning this loss and will support Chandra’s family in every possible way. I encourage everyone to come together, reflect on this tragedy, and work toward a safer, more compassionate society.

Lots of Indian American have been killed iin at their business place, and nothing is going to change. Criminals knows very well that Indian American never keep a gun for self defense. I suggest all Indian America to keep a gun and pepper spray always for self-defense.

This is what happens when millions of criminal illegals get in well ahead of the other immigrants who wait for years! The justice system is failing miserably when an apprehended illegal criminal gets out with a slap on the wrist telling them “don’t do it again”! What a revolving door policy by liberal Judges! This will only get worse till all the criminal illegals are kicked We have plenty of our own criminals to worry about.

Not only Indians but all he concerned citizens, not only in Dallas, but elsewhere should sign a petition to hang this illegal Cuban immigrant in front of his family for such a brutal killing for a minor incidence.

Somewhere read that US has one of the highest prescriptions for Prozac, like in one in three. That ought to explain.

“Witnesses said Cobos-Martinez, an undocumented Cuban national, ” – Almost every crime report mentions “undocumented or illegal”. Why is every news agency against the current administration’s deportation policy? How many legal residents have to suffer, before someone decides that it is not right?

The accused’s attorneys should not tell court that his medications like Prozac might have driven him to the extent that he did this heinous crime which is not
September 12, 2025Acceptable and which is unpardonable
If he is an illegal person and he has been hired by the
Owner of the motel the owner should be prosecuted and sent to jail for a minimum period of 20 years plus he is liable to pay compensation to bereaved family
Since he died while in duty in the employers business premises the accused should be hanged if TX laws permit
