Chitrangda Singh On Her Evolving Bond With Akshay Kumar
MUMBAI (IANS) –Chitrangda Singh recently shared insights into her evolving dynamic with Akshay Kumar. Having reunited on screen for the film “Housefull 5,” Singh revealed that their relationship has blossomed from a formal working acquaintance into a warm friendship.
Chitrangda said, “I think he does pranks on sets to entertain himself because he gets bored. He works so much, but he’s lovely. His energy is the same. When I worked with him last time, it was very formal. But now, we’re like friends.”
She further emphasized Akshay’s supportive nature, both personally and professionally. “I think I can say that I can call him anytime for any advice. Even on set, he was advising me a lot,” she said, appreciating his approachable and mentoring demeanor. “I was asking him—should I do this differently? Is it too much? Should I do less?”
Chitrangda Singh previously co-starred with the “Kesari” actor in the 2011 comedy “Desi Boyz.” Directed by Rohit Dhawan, the film also featured John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
The actress also candidly discussed her initial hesitations before venturing into the comedy genre. Recalling her decision to take on “Desi Boyz,” Chitrangda admitted, “I still remember the day I left Sajid’s office after saying yes. On my way back home, I sat in the car wondering if I had made a mistake.”
Her primary concern wasn’t just audience reception but whether she would be embraced in a new space. “I was scared that no matter how hard I tried, if the audience didn’t accept me in this genre, I could end up losing the love and connection I had built with them. That was a real fear,” she confessed.
