Chunky Panday Reflects On His Mistakes

MUMBAI, (ANI) – An old video of Chunky Panday has resurfaced, revealing the actor’s candid reflection on the early struggles of his career. In the video, shared by ‘Lehren’, Panday, dressed in a police uniform, opens up about how his initial success led to some missteps.

“When I got my first film and started shooting for it, I had nothing to lose,” Panday recalls. “I thought, ‘Let’s see what happens.’ When the film released and got a great response, I felt like I’d won the lottery.”

Buoyed by his early success, Panday became more serious about his career. However, he soon made a critical mistake. “I went on a signing spree,” he admits. “I said yes to 15-20 films without considering who was directing them or what the stories were. Unfortunately, most of them didn’t do well.”

Chunky Panday debuted in 1987 with Aag Hi Aag. However, as the 1990s progressed, the rise of actors like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan in romantic roles, and Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Ajay Devgn as action stars, made it difficult for Panday to find his niche. Established actors like Sunny Deol and Govinda dominated their genres, further limiting opportunities for Panday, especially as the trend shifted towards solo-hero films by the late 90s.
