Florida Politician Faces Backlash After Calling For Every Indian To Be Deported
India-West News Desk
PALM BAY, FL — A series of inflammatory social media posts from Palm Bay City Councilman Chandler Langevin has ignited a political firestorm.
On September 26, Langevin posted on X, “Deport every Indian immediately.” Two days later, he followed with, “There’s not a single Indian that cares about the United States.” Then he escalated it further, writing, “I stand by my comments. Palm Bay will not become Dallas or Dearborn.”
Other posts and reposts on his feed included: “Indian migration has to cease immediately,” “They are here to exploit us financially and enrich India and Indians,” and “INDIA is having its people INVADE OUR COUNTRY, and is actively PAYING PEOPLE to try to SHUT THE PUBLIC UP.”
The backlash has been swift. Mayor Rob Medina issued a letter to residents stressing, “Words that demean or devalue others have no place in Palm Bay. Our city’s strength has always come from its diversity.” He has added an agenda item for the Oct. 2 council meeting to consider recommending Langevin’s removal.
Councilman Donny Johnson said Langevin’s rhetoric directly attacks communities that help Palm Bay thrive. “
Elected officials across Florida also weighed in to support the Indian American community.
State Rep. Brian Hodgers said, “These comments do not reflect the values of our state, or our community. Indian Americans are an integral part of Florida, contributing as business owners, professionals, and neighbors.”
State Rep. Monique Miller added, “I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian-American community. You are loved and respected and I salute you.”
On Facebook, US Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL), emphasized the community’s role. “Many are entrepreneurs of the highest order… But all that I met were proud Americans. I am very troubled by the racist rhetoric I have heard targeted at them. It is disgusting and I reject it absolutely.”
The Brevard County Democratic Executive Committee condemned Langevin’s remarks stating, “When an elected official targets whole communities by race, religion, or national origin, he is not advancing policy — he is amplifying prejudice, undermining public safety, and breaking trust with the people he was elected to serve.”

The Guy is right there is not any single Indian who stands with or for USA. In the past an American politician said, “it is easy to take an Indian out of India, but impossible toke India out of an Indian.” They are here for US $ only.

Palm Bay City Councilman Chandler Langevin’s comment is absolutely foolish, without common sense, un-American and selfish.
Immigrants from India are always self-disciplines and highly educated. They never stand in Welfare lines. Despite any hardships they put all their might to work and succeed in business and education .
Many of them are decorated with high positions in the USA: Kash Patel, Director of FBI; Not one but SIX congressmen and women: Ami Bera, Suhash Subramania, Pramila Jayapal, Ro Khanna, Shri Thanedar, Raja Krishnamoorthi : ‘ Billions of dollars are DONATED by Indian-American donors to universities and other places. ref. Yahoo/Finance.
Note the following by Yahoo: Notable findings include:
78% of Indian Americans hold a bachelor’s degree or higher—far exceeding the national average.
Approximately 270,000 Indian students are currently enrolled in American universities.
Indian students contribute nearly $10 billion annually to the U.S. economy, supporting an estimated 93,000 American jobs.

Councilman Chandler Langevin is a racist, a demagogue, and a Yahoo. The sad part is that there are too many of these clowns in the United States who hold these opinions; otherwise, the last outcome of the presidential contest would have been very different. It is obvious that these uncivilised folks, like councilman Langevin, have not read the history of Indian immigrants and their unparalleled contributions to arts, music, and sciences in the STEM academies of the world. Indo/American elementary school kids are more literate than Councilman Langevin.
