Google Expands AI Footprint in India Through Strategic Reliance Partnership
NEW DELHI – Google is stepping up its AI initiatives in India through a new collaboration with Reliance Intelligence, the AI subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited. The partnership will provide eligible Jio users with free access for 18 months to Google’s AI Pro plan, featuring the latest Gemini 2.5 Pro model, advanced image and video generation tools (Nano Banana and Veo 3.1), Notebook LM for research, and 2 TB of cloud storage.
Google will also work with Reliance to deliver localized AI experiences tailored to India’s diverse user base, bringing its AI capabilities to consumers, developers, and businesses.
In addition, Google Cloud is broadening access to its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) via Reliance, enabling organizations to train larger, more complex AI models and accelerate deployment. Reliance Intelligence will act as a go-to-market partner for Google Cloud, supporting the rollout of Gemini Enterprise across Indian enterprises.
“Through this partnership, we are making Google’s cutting-edge AI tools widely accessible in India,” said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet. “Our goal is to empower consumers, businesses, and developers with advanced AI capabilities, helping drive innovation and practical AI adoption.”
