MUMBAI (IANS)- Bollywood’s original ‘Bhidu’, actor Jackie Shroff, is renowned for his uber-cool attitude and distinctive ‘tapori’ language. The actor once revealed on the quiz-based television show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ where he picked up his iconic lingo.

Jaggu Dada, as he is affectionately known, appeared on the show with his ‘Border’ co-star Suniel Shetty. Show host Amitabh Bachchan, out of curiosity, asked Shroff about the origin of his unique language.

Big B inquired, “Where did you learn the Bhidu language? How did you learn it?”

Shroff responded, “Sir, earlier, the area was such that the language was spoken naturally, and one would pick it up just by listening. And then there was you.”

He further elaborated, “In all your films, you were the pioneer, right? We came later. You have given us the complete language of Mumbai. I mean, you have given us good language as well, but the Mumbai Street language that we speak, sir, you have given us that beautiful language as well. There was a dialogue of yours too.”

Big B recalled, “Oh, yes! In real life, it was in ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. I was standing in the corner and someone ran towards me, so I hit him on the leg and he fell down. Yes, I caught him. ‘Aisa toh Aadmi Life mein Doich time bhaagta hai. Olympic ka race ho, yaa Police ka case ho’ (A person runs like this twice in his life: if it’s an Olympic race or a police case). Why are you running, brother?”
