Jyot Singh Running For Georgia State Senate
India-West News Desk
NORCROSS, GA – Local civil rights advocate and small business owner Jyot Singh has officially entered the race for the Georgia State Senate, aiming to represent his home district in Gwinnett County.
Singh, a product of Gwinnett County public schools, is centering his platform on his personal history as the son of immigrants and his extensive background in community organizing. His announcement highlighted a childhood shaped by the financial struggles common to many working families. After growing up in basement apartments and townhomes without healthcare, Singh secured a full scholarship to Yale University.
Upon graduating, he returned to Gwinnett to work as a policy advocate. His campaign credits his involvement in community organizing with helping secure $1.4 billion in funding for local public schools.
Singh is no stranger to the political landscape, having previously served on several high-profile Democratic campaigns for U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, as well as Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.
If elected, Singh intends to leverage his experience in civil rights and education advocacy to expand healthcare access, protect reproductive rights, and strengthen protections for immigrant communities.
