Kash Patel Agrees To Probe Trump-Epstein Birthday Note

WASHINGTON, D.C.-FBI director Kash Patel has agreed to open an investigation into a birthday note allegedly written by Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday, according to The Hill.

Patel’s decision came during a House Oversight Committee hearing after Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) questioned him on the matter. The White House has maintained that the note, released by Epstein’s estate, contains a forged Trump signature. The document features the outline of a female figure and a message suggesting that Trump and Epstein “have certain things in common,” The Hill reported.

During the questioning, Moskowitz asked, “You’ve seen the picture of the woman’s body with the president’s signature — he says it’s not his. Will you open up an investigation into the Epstein estate for putting out a fake document?” Initially, Patel questioned the grounds for such an inquiry. However, after Moskowitz framed it as the forgery of a U.S. president’s signature, Patel replied, “Sure, I’ll do it.”

Last week, Committee Chair James Comer rejected Democratic requests to invite a handwriting expert to verify the signature. He argued that the investigation should focus on Epstein’s victims and potential government involvement. As The Hill reported, Comer said at the time, “Honestly, when you look at what’s the purpose of this investigation, it’s to try to provide justice to the victims and try to get the truth about what went on Epstein Island, and to answer the question, ‘Was the government involved?’ I don’t think a birthday card 20 years ago has any relevance whatsoever.”

Trump has sued The Wall Street Journal for defamation over a July report about the alleged letter. The White House continues to deny its authenticity. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated earlier this month, “It’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” adding that Trump’s legal team will “continue to aggressively pursue litigation.”

Separately, as CNN reported, Donald Trump has previously dismissed demands for transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein case, calling the push for more disclosures a “Democrat hoax.” Trump responded to reporters by saying, “It’s really a Democrat hoax, because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to the success that we have had as a nation since I have been president.”

The renewed focus on the case comes amid growing pressure in the U.S. Congress for the release of the complete set of Epstein case files. (ANI)
