NEW YORK, NY (ANI) – India on September 19 dismissed a lawsuit filed by designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, calling his claims of an alleged “assassination” attempt baseless and unfounded. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri rejected Pannun’s allegations, stating that the lawsuit does not alter India’s position on the situation.

The lawsuit, filed by Pannun—a prominent Khalistani separatist—in the Southern District of New York, accuses the Indian government of orchestrating an assassination attempt against him. The lawsuit names the Government of India, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, former R&AW chief Samant Goel, R&AW agent Vikram Yadav, and businessman Nikhil Gupta. A U.S. court has issued summons demanding a response from the Indian government and the mentioned officials within 21 days.

In response, Misri pointed out that the organization Pannun represents has been declared unlawful under India’s Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967 due to its involvement in anti-national and subversive activities aimed at undermining India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

As has been widely reported the US has said it had thwarted an attempt to kill Khalistani terrorist Pannun on its soil. Last year, U.S. prosecutors charged Nikhil Gupta, who has pleaded not guilty, with working alongside an Indian government employee to carry out the foiled assassination in New York.

  • I wish the Indian Govt. had issued a statement:

USA and US Govt. does not have jurisdiction over the The Indian Govt.
Pannun needs to first answer to Indian Courts that predate any action and serve the punishment for the murders he committed and the laws he broke in India.

The Indian Govt. needs to prosecute Pannun in absentia and issue an Interpol notice. And the same with the many other criminals in NATO countries. Then we can see what the NATO countries do. They too will need an absconder returned someday.
