Loomer Targets Patel’s Qatar Ties, Rants About His Being Indian

WASHINGTON, DC – FBI Director Kash Patel’s past consulting work for Qatar is again in the spotlight after conservative and Trump whisperer, Laura Loomer, launched a series of attacks questioning his ties to Doha and accusing him of siding with interests she labels dangerous.

Patel, who previously listed the United States Embassy of Qatar as a client of his consulting firm Trishul, had earlier acknowledged in an ethics filing that he provided services to the embassy as recently as November 2024. He had also pledged to recuse himself from matters involving Qatar for one year. That period expired last month, and he received a waiver in March after his Senate confirmation that permitted him to engage in Qatar related issues. The waiver did not spell out the limits of that participation.

Loomer seized on those connections after Patel traveled to Doha last week, where he signed two MOUs with Qatari authorities described by state media as agreements to strengthen security cooperation, information sharing, training, and capacity building. Loomer is now framing that visit as proof that Patel has drawn close to what she calls” pro-Islamist networks” in the Gulf.

On December 9 she escalated her criticism with an attack that targeted Patel’s Indian heritage. In a post she wrote, “You are an Indian. Do you know the Qataris make Indians like you slaves under Kafala? They built their buildings with Indian slave labor.” She accused Patel of failing to confront Qatari officials on migrant worker abuses, adding, “Did you tell the Qataris to stop enslaving your people and funding terrorists? This is just so shameful… I advocated for you and now you are in Qatar. It is just such a let down.”

Her comments were part of a wider campaign accusing Patel of enabling what she called the Islamification of the United States after the signing of the new security accords. She wrote that Patel’s actions would jeopardize American lives and claimed he had aligned himself with “pro-Islamicterror” interests. Loomer also charged that Patel attended a Qatari-sponsored event at the Kennedy Center days earlier, which she cited as evidence that he was “uniting with the funders of HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

She resurfaced Patel’s earlier consulting relationship with Qatar and argued that he never registered the work under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. She said this contradicts any Trump era plan to pressure Qatar over its ties to Islamist groups. Her post concluded, “Now Kash Patel is partying with Jihadis.”
