MasterChef’s Pinky Mangal Inspires, Cooks On Despite Losing Her Eyesight
MUMBAI This season of MasterChef will feature an inspiring entrant in Pinky Mangal, who competes alongside Preeti Agarwal in a story defined by determination and resilience.
Hailing from Indore, Pinky Mangal is a homemaker who lost her eyesight due to retinal pigmentation. Despite the loss of vision, she has retained her independence, confidence, and deep passion for cooking. Pinky manages her kitchen entirely on her own, moving with assurance and precision without external assistance.
Reflecting on her journey, Pinky said she has been cooking independently for years and has competed in the Golden Eye Chef Contest from 2021 to 2025. During that time, she won three Jury Awards and four People’s Choice Awards. Representing Indore on a national platform, she said, feels deeply special. For her, MasterChef India brings together the best talent from across the country and offers an opportunity to make both her city and the nation proud.
Preeti Agarwal echoed that sentiment, describing their partnership as distinctive. She said Pinky brings a strong artistic vision to their cooking, and together they aim to ensure that Indore’s name shines across India and beyond. Their shared goal, she added, is to make the country proud through determination and skill.
This season of MasterChef features Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar, and Chef Kunal Kapoor on the judging panel.–
