Nita Ambani Dons A Kanchipuram Sari For Trump Event

WASHINGTON, DC (ANI) – As global attention focused on Washington, D.C., for Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, made a striking appearance at a private reception on January 18. Draped in a custom-made Kanchipuram silk saree and adorned with heritage Indian jewelry, Ambani showcased the cultural richness of India on an international stage.

The saree, crafted by National Award-winning master artisan B. Krishnamoorthy, featured over 100 traditional motifs inspired by the spiritual and historical essence of Kanchipuram’s grand temples. Among the intricate designs were the Iruthalaipakshi (a double-headed eagle symbolizing Lord Vishnu), Mayil (representing immortality and divinity), and mythical Sorgavasal animal trails, embodying India’s rich folklore.

To add a modern touch, the saree was paired with a Manish Malhotra-designed velvet blouse featuring a built-up neckline and intricate beadwork along the sleeve hem, blending tradition with contemporary sophistication.

Completing the ensemble was a 200-year-old rare Indian pendant crafted in Southern India. The parrot-shaped pendant, encrusted with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls, was created using the gold Kundan technique and finished with red and green enamel detailing.
