Papa Johns To Re-Enter India With A 650-Store Plan

ATLANTA, GA – Pizza chain Papa Johns International is set to return to India by October, with an ambitious plan to open 650 outlets over the next 10 years.
The company, the world’s third-largest pizza delivery chain, exited India in 2017 after years of weak performance. Its return follows U.S. rival Little Caesars, which also entered the market earlier this year in a smaller way.
Papa Johns will relaunch operations in Bengaluru, backed by a joint franchise partnership between Indian investment firm Pulsar Capital and UAE-based PJP Investments Group.
Papa Johns says it will adapt its menu for local tastes, incorporating paneer- and tikka-inspired offerings alongside its global favorites. US fast food chains starting with KFC have long leaned on Indianized recipes to retain consumer interest.
