MUMBAI (ANI)- Tahira Kashyap, who recently revealed that her breast cancer has returned, offered a heartfelt yet humorous glimpse into her hospital experience.
On social media, Tahira, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, shared moments from her recent visit for scans and imaging. She began by recalling how her doctor tried to lighten the mood by playing Shah Rukh Khan’s emotional track Kal Ho Naa Ho just before a procedure. Though touched by the gesture, the timing felt slightly ironic to her.
“As I entered the scanning area, the doctor had his playlist on. This was the song playing as I lay down ready to be taken inside. I gulped and said, ‘Sir, I appreciate your gesture, but please turn this off!’” she wrote.
Later in her post, Tahira recounted an amusing moment that lifted her spirits. While walking the hospital corridor after the procedure, she overheard a 70-year-old patient listening intently to celebrity gossip. Minutes later, the same woman passed her in the hallway with surprising energy.
“She was keenly listening to gossip about an actor’s love life. A little later, she was stumbling out of her room, racing ahead of me. I could swear I heard her say, ‘Agar yeh itna dangal macha sakte hain toh main kyon nahi!’ I’ve always known the power of cinema—on and off screen!” Tahira added.
On April 7, Tahira publicly announced her cancer relapse, emphasizing the importance of regular screening. “Seven-year itch or the power of regular screening—I’d like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me… I still got this,” she wrote.
Tahira was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. Last month, she shared a powerful image of herself with a clean-shaven head, documenting her current treatment journey.
