WESTFIELD, NJ — Dr. Tina Shah, the practicing physician and Democratic candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, announced October 1 that her campaign raised more than $600,000 in the most recent fundraising quarter — the largest single-quarter haul by any current NJ-07 Democratic candidate.
The fundraising milestone signals strong financial momentum for Shah as she positions herself to challenge Republican incumbent Tom Kean Jr. in one of the nation’s most closely watched races.
“I am honored to see the outpouring of support our campaign has received,” Shah said. “Our campaign is fighting to serve hardworking families, not special interests and corporations; that is why I will flip NJ-07 in 2026.”
Political analysts say the money could prove critical in a district rated as highly competitive. The Center for Politics lists NJ-07 as a “toss-up,” and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has included Kean Jr.’s seat on its 2026 “Districts in Play” list.
As a triple board-certified intensive care physician, Shah has leveraged her career in healthcare to build a platform focused on lowering costs for families, expanding healthcare access, and challenging the influence of industry money in politics.
