Trump Warns Of Withholding Funds To NY After Governor Endorses Mamdani

NEW YORK, NY – President Donald Trump reacted strongly after Governor Kathy Hochul endorsed Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race, suggesting that the federal government could reconsider sending funds to the city.
Hochul announced her endorsement through a New York Times Op-Ed on September 14, framing Mamdani as a leader capable of protecting New Yorkers from policies she says could be harmful.
In response, Trump posted on social media on September 15: “A very bad one for New York City. Washington will be watching this situation very closely. No reason to be sending good money after bad! President DJT.”
The governor said Trump’s public intervention reinforced her decision to support Mamdani. She accused the former president of “inserting himself into our local election” and warned that she could not endorse a mayor “tainted or compromised” by the Trump administration.
While Hochul acknowledged policy differences with Mamdani, she emphasized that the endorsement reflects shared priorities on key issues, including resisting federal actions she believes could negatively impact the city.
In a statement, she reiterated her support for the frontrunner, calling the endorsement a necessary step to safeguard New York City.

Please note this is another trap set by “media genius” Trump. Trump and Reps are salivating over the future win of Mamdani. This is the best gift they could get to win in 2026. Trump and Reps will say many negative things about him before NYC election. Trump knows very well that it will infuriate and incite some dem voters. It is an attempt to ensure Mamadani’s win. His win will be the best campaign fodder in 2026 showing how dems are disconnected with the voters. The senile status quo “do no evil”, “see no evil” corrupt leaders are the root cause of mistrust among voters. Same traps like “border”, “crime” helped Trump to win. While a high school kid can understand the traps- but the leaders don’t. They are still in “protest” mode not realizing that millions of lifelong democrats left the party and continuing.
