Tucker Carlson Says Harris Is Malay; Foreign Minister Claps Back

NEW YORK, NY – Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan took to social media to respond to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who disparaged US Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris as “Malaysian.”
Addressing Carlson’s racist remarks, Hasan posted on Facebook, “Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Mr. Carlson. We were not aware that a Malaysian was running for the office of the US President. Should Puan Kamala win the race, we are delighted to invite her to #balikkampung and try some #nasigorengUSA.”
Carlson had made the racist remarks during a speech at Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden on October 27, describing Harris as “Samoan-Malaysian” in an attempt to question her qualifications.
He told the crowd, “It’s going to be hard to look at us and say, ‘You know what? Kamala Harris, she got 85 million votes because she’s so impressive as the first Samoan Malaysian, low-I.Q., former California prosecutor ever to be elected president.’”
This isn’t the first time Kamala Harris’s racial identity has been purposefully misrepresented and drawn charges of racism from all quarters except supporters of Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Trump of course made similar claims during an interview at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago saying Harris had suddenly become Black.
