Vivek Ramaswamy Land Key Christian Endorsement

CINCINNATI, OH – A leading Ohio Christian lobbyist has thrown his support behind Hindu entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy in the state’s gubernatorial race, favoring him over Christian Attorney General Dave Yost.
Aaron Baer, president of the Center for Christian Virtue, announced his endorsement of Ramaswamy, citing his commitment to family values and education reform, including merit-based raises for teachers. Baer acknowledged that some Christians may hesitate to support a non-Christian candidate but described Ramaswamy’s candidacy as a rare opportunity. “It’s worth Christians stepping out of a comfort zone,” he said, adding that he has personally told Ramaswamy, “I pray he comes to know Jesus.”
The endorsement is notable for sidelining Yost, a longtime ally of the Center for Christian Virtue, a staunch supporter of religious release time in public schools and a vocal opponent of abortion rights.
During his 2024 presidential bid, Ramaswamy expressed opposition to abortion but did not support a national ban. He also criticized Ohio Republicans for failing to present a strong counterproposal before voters passed a constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights. “The Republicans did not have an alternative amendment or vision on the table,” he said at the time.
Ramaswamy has actively engaged with Christian groups, even addressing the Center for Christian Virtue’s 2024 gala. “There’s one question I had,” he joked at the event. “This is the Center for Christian Virtue, and you want your keynote speaker to be a Hindu.”
Ramaswamy welcomed Baer’s support, calling it “one of my most important endorsements.” He emphasized his alignment with Christian conservatives on key issues, telling The Cincinnati Enquirer that he looks forward to working with Baer and other faith leaders to promote strong families and religious liberty in Ohio.
