MILWAUKEE, WI — A day after Zohran Mamdani was elected the 111th mayor of New York City — becoming the city’s first Muslim and first Asian American to hold the office — the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first bobblehead in his likeness.

The collectible features Mamdani in a dark suit and red tie, raising his right hand in a wave while standing on a red-white-and-blue base bearing his name.

“We’ve been receiving many requests for a Zohran Mamdani bobblehead as his profile grew during the campaign, both in New York and nationally,” Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar told reporters. “We think supporters will appreciate having one as Mamdani steps into leadership of America’s largest city.”

Mamdani, 34, was born in Kampala, Uganda, and spent his early childhood in South Africa before immigrating to the United States at age seven. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Africana studies from Bowdoin College in 2014, he first won office in 2020 by defeating five-term Assemblymember Aravella Simotas in the Democratic primary for New York’s 36th Assembly District, representing Astoria, Queens. He was re-elected without opposition in both 2022 and 2024.
