SACRAMENTO, CA – Suvidha International Foundation, a California registered nonprofit, held a run and walkathon on April 23, here. Over 200 people participated in the 5K run and 10K walkathon.

Bhaskar Vempati of Suvidha said the proceeds would benefit water and organic farming projects in India with special emphasis on Telugu states. He said the aim was to improve the economic wellbeing of rural communities by creating self-sustaining model villages.

Suvidha is on a mission to raise a million dollars to convert 500 plus villages from water poverty into water plenty over the next three years. These water projects are expected to help over 5 million farmers.

A list of works that have already been completed by Suvidha and other works that are in progress can be viewed here: http://suvidhainternational.org/progress.
