SACRAMENTO, CA — Indian American Congressman Ami Bera will face Republican Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker in California’s 3rd Congressional District race this November after both advanced from the June 2 primary election.

Bera, a Democrat who has represented California’s 6th Congressional District since 2013, is seeking reelection in the newly drawn 3rd District following changes to the state’s congressional map under Proposition 50.

The district stretches across parts of the Sacramento region, including Folsom and Roseville, and extends east toward Truckee and Lake Tahoe.

During his campaign, Bera emphasized investment in clean energy infrastructure, public-private partnerships to support local communities, and protecting access to reproductive healthcare.

Tucker, a Republican and former small-business owner, has campaigned on reducing taxes and business regulations, easing restrictions on gun ownership, and ending federal funding for sanctuary cities.

Voters will choose between the two candidates in the November general election.
