Bomb Threat Targets Diljit Dosanjh’s Ahmedabad Concert

AHMEDABAD-The Gujarat Cricket Association, which manages the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, received a bomb threat email on October 7 while an India Under-19-Australia Under-19 match was being played at the venue. The email also threatened a blast during singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert at the stadium on November 21.

The threat was among a series of emails sent to 13 establishments in Ahmedabad, including schools and courts. Police later said the threats were hoaxes, but security teams carried out checks at the affected locations as a precaution.

The email specifically referred to Dosanjh’s November 21 concert at the stadium. It also mentioned a November 1 event at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where the singer is scheduled to perform.

The sender claimed an association with a pro-Khalistan outfit and warned people against attending Dosanjh’s concerts. The email also referred to the 1984 anti-Sikh violence and contained provocative language while issuing the alleged threats. (IANS)
