Indian American Led Eco Company Launches Electric Bikes In California

India-West Staff Reporter

CORONA, CA  – Calibike, a company focused on promoting sustainable transportation through electric bikes, launched its latest product at an event held at the Corona City Council Hall. The launch aligns with California’s ongoing efforts to encourage eco-friendly transportation and reduce carbon emissions.

The event, held on September 14, featured Corona Mayor Tom Richins, who expressed support for the company’s vision. He highlighted the importance of sustainable mobility solutions for reducing the city’s environmental impact. Mayor Richins acknowledged the role of companies like Calibike in promoting greener futures, stating that Corona is well-positioned to be part of such progressive initiatives.

Calibike is led by Rafe Husain, a Lucknow born, Indian American entrepreneur and innovator, recognized for his efforts in the electric bike industry. His leadership and vision have helped position Calibike at the forefront of sustainable commuting solutions. Husain emphasized the company’s role in advancing sustainable transportation. Husain noted that Calibike is more than just a product but part of a broader push toward green, integrated transport solutions.

In addition to launching its electric bike, Calibike aims to complement public transportation systems. The company plans to integrate with large-scale infrastructure projects like Brightline West, a high-speed rail system that will connect Las Vegas and Southern California. Calibike’s lightweight, eco-friendly design is intended to serve as a last-mile solution, he said, offering commuters an alternative for reaching their final destinations from public transport hubs.

The company’s launch coincides with California’s goal of transitioning to zero-emission vehicle sales by 2035. Calibike’s products align with the state’s electric vehicle policies and tax incentives, which encourage residents to shift to electric alternatives. The state’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project further supports these goals by offering financial rebates to those purchasing electric vehicles.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Calibike donated electric bikes to the City of Corona. These bikes will be used by the city’s Park Rangers to patrol local parks and enhance mobility while reducing emissions.
