Vivek Ramaswamy Says Ohio Is “Pleading” With Him To Be Governor
India-West News Desk
COLUMBUS, OH – Vivek Ramaswamy, the former Republican presidential candidate, has hinted at the possibility of running for Governor of Ohio. In a recent appearance on the “PBD Podcast” with Patrick Bet-David, Ramaswamy shared that he’s been approached by many across the state to pursue the governorship.
“This is the number one thing that people across the state will come literally plead with me to do,” Ramaswamy said during the interview, which has since gone viral on social media. While not definitively committing to a run, he acknowledged that it’s a possibility he’s seriously considering. “Would I consider it? Yes, I would consider it. But am I definitively on that path? I’m not definitively on any specific path right now,” he added.
Ramaswamy also touched on this possibility during a town hall in Springfield, Ohio, in September, where he humorously responded to a question about running for governor, saying, “I’m a little more inclined than I was ten seconds ago.” He also spoke about concerns regarding the migrant crisis, highlighting some of the pressing issues Ohioans are facing.
When asked about the shift in his stance, Ramaswamy explained that, six months ago, he would have dismissed the idea, but the growing demand from the public has changed his perspective. “It’s not something that I view as a pleasurable job. It’s not something that I have always aspired to in my whole life, but public service is about serving the public, right? And so, would I consider it? Yes,” he said.
Ohio’s current governor, Mike DeWine, is ineligible for reelection in 2026 after serving two terms, leaving the door open for new contenders.
In addition to the possibility of a gubernatorial run, Ramaswamy has also floated the idea of filling the Senate seat of fellow Ohioan J.D. Vance, should it become vacant if Vance is elected on the Republican ticket as vice president.
Ever the loyalist, Ramaswamy noted that a decision would come only after consulting with current Republican candidate for president, Donald Trump.

After November 5th, the best advice for the current Republican activists would be to take a long breath, clear their heads, and pick up brooms to clean the GOP left cluttered national grounds by the current deranged leadership. They will have eight years to repair self-inflicted deep wounds.
