‘Saiyaara’ Duo Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda Score IMDb Awards

MUMBAI- Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the stars of the blockbuster romantic drama ‘Saiyaara,’ have been named the recipients of the IMDb Breakout Star STARmeter Award. The recognition follows the film’s record-setting performance, which has made it the highest-grossing Bollywood romance of all time with $62 million.

The awards are based on exceptional audience engagement and popularity rankings on IMDb, where the actors each secured the top spot on India’s celebrity rankings in back-to-back weeks. Their appeal has also transcended local boundaries, with Padda reaching number 64 and Panday at 75 on the worldwide top 100 list.

Panday said the honor was especially meaningful because it came directly from audiences. He thanked director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films’ chair Aditya Chopra, adding, “Sharing this award with my co-star Aneet makes this achievement even more special. She deserves not only this but the world.”

Padda, who portrayed journalist Vaani Batra, echoed his sentiments. She expressed her delight that her performance “resonated with audiences worldwide,” and dedicated her first award to the entire cast and crew. Padda called the experience of playing Vaani one of the most “joyful and intense” of her life.

The IMDb STARmeter system analyzes page view data from the platform’s more than 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. The award has previously recognized actors such as Adarsh Gourav, Ayo Edebiri, and Regé-Jean Page.
