MUMBAI – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 60 on November 2, celebrated his milestone birthday privately in Alibaug with close friends from the film industry, skipping his customary fan meet in Mumbai for the first time in years.

In a heartfelt message to his fans on social media, Khan apologized for not being able to step out and greet the thousands gathered outside his Bandra residence, Mannat. “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me. My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues,” he wrote.

He added, “Thank you for understanding and believe me, I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all.”

Sources suggest that law enforcement agencies had advised the actor about crowd control issues. Thousands gathered outside his house ‘Mannat’ to catch a glimpse of the superstar.

Despite Khan’s absence, the annual #SRKDay celebrations went ahead with full enthusiasm. The fan-organized meet-and-greet at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir Auditorium in Bandra was packed with admirers from across India and abroad, including fans from France, Germany, and the United States. Many wore t-shirts emblazoned with “King Khan” and carried posters of the actor.

Team SRK Universe, one of Khan’s largest global fan clubs, kept the energy high by performing on his iconic hit ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ from ‘Dil Se’ before the star made a surprise appearance later in the evening.

Khan, dressed casually in blue jeans, a black tee, an off-white jacket, black sunglasses, and a beanie cap, was greeted with deafening cheers as he walked on stage. True to tradition, he struck his signature open arms pose, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

In another viral moment, the Badshah of Bollywood was seen cutting a three-tier cake topped with a golden crown, marking six decades of one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars. (IANS)
