Aditya Roy’s Alcohol Binge Had The Shoot Wrap Up

MUMBAI-Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur once drank alcohol while filming ‘Aashiqui 2’ and ended up slurring his lines, prompting the crew to wrap up the shoot for the day, he recalled during an appearance on filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’.

Aditya, who played alcoholic singer Rahul Jaykar in the 2013 romantic drama, appeared on the show with his co-star Shraddha Kapoor. During the conversation, Karan Johar asked whether Aditya had actually consumed alcohol while shooting some scenes for the film.

“I tried my hand at it. It was the only right thing to do as an actor. I tried it; we packed up one day. Otherwise, you are slurring your lines,” Aditya said.

Shraddha added a playful comment about the experience, saying, “Fully slurring, but it was fun to watch”.

‘Aashiqui 2’ follows Rahul, a singer struggling with alcohol addiction and a declining career, and Aarohi Keshav Shirke, an aspiring singer played by Shraddha. Their relationship is tested by Rahul’s drinking and volatile behavior.

‘Aashiqui 2’ was released in 2013, and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Its popular soundtrack, featuring songs by Arijit Singh, helped cement the singer’s place in Hindi cinema. (IANS)
