Akshay Welcomes Niece To Bollywood

MUMBAI, (ANI) – The year 2025 will witness fresh talent entering the Indian film industry, including Simar Bhatia, niece of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. On January 6, Akshay took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note celebrating Simar’s Bollywood debut in Ikkis.

Recalling his early days, Akshay wrote, “I remember the first time I saw my photo on the cover of the newspaper. I thought that’s the ultimate happiness. But today I know the happiness of seeing your child’s photo here beats everything. I wish my mom was here today; she would have said, ‘Simar puttar, Tu tah Kamaal hai.’ Bless you, my baby, the sky is yours.”

He also shared a newspaper clipping featuring an article about Simar’s debut. Actors Huma Qureshi and Rakul Preet Singh cheered for Simar in the comments, with Rakul dropping heart emojis and Huma saying, “Sim Sim.”

Ikkis also stars Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, in a war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra awardee. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film features veteran actor Dharmendra in a pivotal role.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Sky Force on January 24, 2025, just ahead of Republic Day. The film showcases Akshay as an Indian Air Force officer on a mission of vengeance after losing several soldiers. The cast includes debutant Veer Pahariya as a fellow IAF officer and Sara Ali Khan as Veer’s wife.
