Alaska Peninsula Shivers With 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake
Beijing, (IANS) : The GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said, 0727 GMT on Friday, an earthquake with magnitude 5.0 has hit the Alaska Peninsula.
The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 55.52 degrees north latitude and 157.25 degrees west longitude, Xinhua news agency reported.
In July 2023, a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook southern Alaska, leading to a tsunami warning. The quake was felt strongly across the Aleutian Islands, the Alaskan Peninsula, and the Cook Inlet areas, as stated by the Alaska Earthquake Center.
