Ambassador Kwatra Meets Congressional Reps
WASHINGTON DC (ANI) – India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, has been meeting with several prominent members of the US Congress to discuss the continued strengthening of India-US relations across various sectors. The meetings included Congresswoman Deborah Ross, Congressmen Andy Barr, Rick McCormick, and Indian American lawmakers Ami Bera, Ro Khanna, Shri Thanedar, and Raja Krishnamoorthi.
In his conversation with Bera, one of the longest-serving Indian American members of Congress, Kwatra focused on the deepening of the India-US partnership and the global developments that are of mutual interest to both nations.
Kwatra also met with Khanna, Co-Chair of the House India Caucus, where they held “enriching discussions” and Barr, who along with Khanna, had previously introduced bipartisan legislation to fast-track US arms sales to India, further solidifying the security cooperation between the two nations.
Congressman Krishnamoorthi was another key figure in Kwatra’s discussions who along with the now new appointee to the Trump administration, Mike Waltz, introduced legislation to expedite weapon sales to India.
Kwatra’s meetings with Thanedar and McCormick, was also aimed at cementing ties between the US and India.
