NEW YORK, NY – Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, known for her open disdain toward Indian American politician Vivek Ramaswamy, has once again stirred controversy with her remarks on the recent deportation of Indian illegals from the United States.

Coulter faced criticism after resharing a video of Indian nationals being expelled, adding a pointed caption: “Anybody named ‘Vivek’ on that plane?”Michael Banks, Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, posted the widely circulated video along with text that read ” USBP and partners successfully returned illegal aliens to India, marking the farthest deportation flight yet using military transport. This mission underscores our commitment to enforcing immigration laws and ensuring swift removals. If you cross illegally, you will be removed.”

The remark was widely seen as a jab at Ramaswamy, whom Coulter has previously dismissed explicitly due to his Indian heritage. One social media user reminded her that even U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s son is named Vivek. Coulter is close to Vance but not Trump.

Coulter’s hostility toward Ramaswamy is not new. In May 2024, while he was still in the running for the Republican presidential nomination, she bluntly told him she would never vote for him because he is Indian.

Ramaswamy later acknowledged that more voters than he had expected shared her sentiment, though he strongly rejected the idea that race or heritage should determine a candidate’s viability. “Of course, I disagree like hell with her on that being a criterion to be U.S. president,” he said, though he also praised Coulter for her honesty.

Ramaswamy, it is widely speculated, was pushed out of DOGE by Elon Musk for not espousing the same sentiments on minorities as  he does.

Coulter’s latest comment has reignited discussions about racism in conservative politics, especially regarding the growing presence of Indian Americans in public life.

  • It is not easy to defend Vivek Ramaswami’s political stand or his partnership with the current president of the United States. For one thing, one must say that he speaks proper English and expresses well in the written forum, which is not the case with Ann Coulter and Trump. Ann Coulter enhances the stereotypes of most Dumb Blonds (DB), and the president is not too far behind her way of thinking.

  • I don’t like any of these people anymore. They seem primarily motivated by a need for fame, and a discharge of very nervous, anxious, aggressive tension,

  • Ann Coulter is NOT a conservative. She’s from outer space. I would vote for Vivek in a heartbeat.
