Bishnoi-Brar Alliance Collapses Amid Dispute Over Anmol’s US Legal Case
India-West News Desk
TORONTO — A major split has surfaced within one of India’s most feared criminal networks, with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail, reportedly severing ties with his longtime ally, Goldy Brar, who is believed to be operating from the United States.
The rift has come to light following the circulation of an unverified audio message on social media, allegedly featuring voices of Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, a fugitive gangster believed to be based in Azerbaijan. In the clip, the speaker denies any association with Anmol Bishnoi — Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother — and takes responsibility for a recent armed attack on Rajasthan-based businessman Ashish Gupta.
According to Indian intelligence officials, the fallout appears to stem from internal disputes over Anmol’s legal troubles in the U.S. Anmol was reportedly detained by American immigration authorities last November for using forged documents. Although he was granted bail, sources say both Brar and Godara deliberately refused to help arrange the bond. As a result, Anmol was released under electronic monitoring and is currently wearing a GPS tracker.
This refusal to support Anmol during a critical phase has reportedly enraged Lawrence Bishnoi, who views the abandonment as a betrayal by Brar and Godara. The relationship, once seen as a cornerstone of an expansive transnational crime syndicate, has now allegedly broken down completely.
The fallout has significant implications, as Anmol Bishnoi remains wanted in India in several high-profile cases. These include the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, a shooting incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, and the alleged murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. Indian security agencies are closely monitoring the development, concerned that internal rivalries could lead to further acts of violence or retaliation.
This infighting marks a rare public fracture in the Bishnoi-Brar network, which has operated across international borders with impunity for years.
