COLUMBUS, OH -The Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association has formally endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, adding to growing support for his campaign within Ohio’s law enforcement community.
The endorsement, announced on April 21, builds on backing from 65 county sheriffs and highlights public safety as a key issue in the governor’s race.
“Vivek Ramaswamy understands the challenges our members face,” said Andrew Gasiewski, president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association. “He’s committed to fully backing Police and Fire, protecting pensions from cuts, and defending qualified immunity.”
Ramaswamy said if elected, his administration would ensure they have the resources, equipment, and support needed to protect Ohio families. He has made crime reduction a central message of his campaign.
His campaign said it raised $19.8 million in 2025, the highest single-year fundraising total in Ohio gubernatorial history.
