MUMBAI -Comedian-actor Cyrus Broacha revisited his debut film ‘Jalwa’ (1987), recalling his early performance with characteristic humor and describing it as “New York Film School energy, municipal hospital execution.”

Cyrus, who played Suresh, the younger brother of Jyothi, a character portrayed by actress Archana Puran Singh, in the film directed by Pankuj Parashar, shared a clip from the movie on Instagram.

Reflecting on his debut at the age of 15, he wrote in the caption: “My Bollywood debut in Jalwa. New York Film School energy, municipal hospital execution.”

The film was an unofficial remake of the 1984 American film ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ and was later remade in Telugu as ‘Trinetrudu’, directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy and starring Chiranjeevi.

Cyrus Broacha later went on to build a career in television and comedy, hosting several shows on MTV, including the long-running candid-camera show ‘MTV Bakra’. He also appeared in the Indian television adaptation of the American sitcom ‘Friends’, titled ‘Hello Friends’. He is a highly lauded podcaster. (IANS)
