BRUNSWICK, ME – Dr. Nirav Shah has cleared a key requirement in his bid for the US Senate, with his campaign securing enough signatures to participate in the Maine Democratic Party’s nominating convention.
According to the campaign, Shah received support from 500 registered Democrats across Maine, including the required minimum of 50 signatures from each of eight counties.
“Mainers aren’t waiting around, and neither are we,” Shah said. “In just a few days, hundreds of Democrats across this state have put their names down because they want a nominee ready to beat Susan Collins in November.”
Shah pointed to the pace of the signature drive as evidence of grassroots enthusiasm behind his campaign.
“This is what grassroots energy looks like, and it is only the beginning,” he said. “While Susan Collins spends another cycle explaining away her record, we are building the campaign that will finally hold her accountable for rising costs, endless wars, and rank corruption.”
