BOSTON, MA – The revised English edition of ‘Theory of Karma,’ originally written in Gujarati as ‘Karmano Siddhant’ by the late Hirabhai Thakkar was launched by Pujya Morari Bapu during the recently concluded Ram Katha held at Harvard University.

The book explains the principles of karma through Sanskrit verses, English transliteration, translations and explanatory notes. Drawing on the Bhagavad Gita and other Vedantic teachings, it examines selfless action and the relationship between actions and their consequences.

The revised edition aims to preserve Thakkar’s original voice, simplicity and spiritual understanding while making his teachings accessible to English-speaking readers, a press note said.

Thakkar was a scholar of Vedanta and a teacher of Indian spiritual philosophy. He served for 38 years in Gujarat’s Revenue Department, retiring in 1976 as a Deputy Collector in the Gujarat Administrative Service.

After retirement, he devoted his life to studying and teaching the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Ramayana and Bhagavatam. His teachings focused on nishkama karma, or selfless action.

‘Theory of Karma’ is available under ISBN 979-8-9979448-0-3.
